With over 3 years of English teaching/tutoring experience, and a background in business administration, public administration, and project management, Ethan specializes in helping professionals and learners develop practical communication skills for the workplace and beyond. His goal is to create engaging, personalized lessons that make learning English both effective and enjoyable.
Luna
(Marketing & Operations Manager)
Managing scheduling, outreach, and marketing, Luna ensures that our students receive a smooth and professional experience from start to finish. She works behind the scenes to keep everything running seamlessly.

1. IntroductionWelcome to Shaffer's Lesson Lab. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, booking system, google forms, and tutoring/teaching services ("Services") provided by Shaffer's Lesson Lab ("we," "us," "our"). By booking or attending a lesson, you ("client," "student," or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms.If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must refrain from using our services.
2. Services OfferedShaffer's Lesson Lab offers online tutoring and teaching services in English as a Second/Foreign Language (ESL), with a specialization in Business English, alongside other lesson types.

Group Lessons3. Eligibility and Client Responsibilities
3.1. Age RequirementYou must be at least 18 years old to book lessons.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must consent to the Terms and be present during the lesson.3.2. Client InformationYou agree to provide accurate and truthful information when booking a lesson.
False or misleading information may result in immediate termination of your access to services.4. Booking, Payment, and Refunds
4.1. Scheduling LessonsLessons must be booked through our online booking system.
Time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.4.2. Payment TermsPayments are processed through Stripe, PayPal, Revolut, Payoneer, Transferwise, or another secure payment method agreed upon by all parties involved.
Full payment is required at the time of booking.
You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete.4.3. Cancellations and RefundsClient-Initiated Cancellations:
You may cancel or reschedule a lesson up to 24 hours before the scheduled time without penalty.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the lesson will not be refunded.
Teacher-Initiated Cancellations:
If we must cancel a lesson, you will be offered:
A full refund OR
The option to reschedule at no additional cost.
No-Shows:
If you do not attend the lesson without prior cancellation, you forfeit the full lesson fee.
No refund or rescheduling will be offered.5. Lesson Policies
5.1. PunctualityYou are expected to join the lesson on time.
If you are more than 10 minutes late, the lesson may be considered a no-show and no refund or rescheduling will be provided.5.2. Technical RequirementsLessons are conducted via Zoom, Google Meet, or other designated platforms.
You are responsible for ensuring:
A stable internet connection
Functional audio and video capabilities
Proper access to the selected platform
We are not liable for lesson disruptions due to technical issues on your end.5.3. Lesson RecordingClients may not record lessons without prior written consent.
We reserve the right to record lessons (with client consent) for:
Quality assurance
Training purposes
Internal business operations6. Code of Conduct
6.1. Client BehaviorTo maintain a respectful and professional environment, you agree to:Use appropriate and respectful language during lessons.
Refrain from engaging in harassment, discrimination, or offensive conduct.
Follow the lesson structure and participate actively.6.2. Violations and TerminationWe reserve the right to immediately terminate services and refuse future bookings if you:Use offensive or inappropriate language.
Disrupt lessons with unprofessional behavior.
Violate any of the policies outlined in these Terms.
Termination for misconduct will not result in a refund.7. Privacy and Data ProtectionWe collect and store personal information (such as your name, email, and lesson details) for the purpose of providing services.
Your information will not be shared with third parties except as necessary for:
Payment processing (via Stripe)
Legal obligations
We use secure encryption protocols to protect your data.
By booking a lesson, you consent to the storage and processing of your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.8. Intellectual PropertyAll lesson materials, resources, and content provided during lessons are the intellectual property of Shaffer's Lesson Lab.
You may use the materials only for personal learning purposes.
You may not:
Distribute, reproduce, or share lesson materials without explicit written permission.
Use the content for commercial purposes.
Unauthorized use of lesson content may result in legal action.9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
9.1. No GuaranteesWe strive to provide high-quality, effective lessons. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or language proficiency improvements.
Lesson effectiveness depends on individual effort and participation.9.2. Limited LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law:We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the lesson.10. Force MajeureWe are not liable for failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our control, including but not limited to:Natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, etc.)
Power outages or internet disruptions
Platform or service interruptions
Government actions or regulations
In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule lessons.11. Dispute Resolution
11.1. Governing LawThese Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.11.2. Resolution ProcessIn the event of a dispute:
You agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting us directly.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be referred to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
You waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.12. Modifications to the TermsWe reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time.
Changes will be effective upon posting to our website.
